  • Class begins with a brief period of instruction followed by chanting the Adi Mantra to tune in.
  • After tuning in,yoga and meditation with a variety of benefits are practiced.
  • After practicing yoga, a period of at least 10 minutes is devoted to guided relaxation to allow every limb and cell in your body to relax, rejuvenate and heal.
  • The class concludes with a poem or song then the mantra Sat Nam - truth is your identity.

THE YOGIC JOURNEY THROUGH THE TWELVE STEPS OF RECOVERY

The Yogic Journey through the Twelve Steps was developed to help individuals in recovery begin and/or continue to develop a spiritual practice. Yoga means integration of the body, mind, and spirit. We each have a body, a mind, and a spirit to attend to in our recovery and each of these aspects of our lives are in a dynamic healing process. The practice of yoga and meditation will help you better understand the spiritual principles offered in each step, allow you to accelerate your healing process, and develop and deepen your connection with a higher power of your own understanding. Each class focuses on one or more of the spiritual principles offered in the 12 Steps and include stillness, movement, reflection and meditation. You will learn postures of the hands and body, breathing, meditation techniques, and how to focus mentally to reduce cravings and obsessive thinking so that you can experience peace of mind and serenity.
